8th La Union Surfing Break on October 24-27, 2013

From October 24-27, 2013, the 8th La Union Surfing Break will again be the event to watch out for.

Before the event a great news was received when the Province of La Union’s annual event called “the La Union Surfing Break” was proclaimed for the second time as the Best Tourism Event in the Philippines on Sports and Wellness, during the 14th Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) National Convention’s The Pearl Awards Night held last October 4, 2013 at The Oriental Hotel, Legaspi City, Albay Province.

The recognition was awarded to the members of the La Union Surfing Break Executive Management Committee and La Union Tourism Officers Association headed by Provincial Information and Tourism Officer Adamor L. Dagang.

This year, the events will be as follows:


Tourists coming from the different places need to purchase the ticket needed to take part in the event.




To all La Union citizens they can avail the Surfbreak tickets for only Php 500.00, it can be purchased at Kahuna Resort or La Union Surf Shop Cafe in Urbiztondo, San Juan. Bring an ID proving that you are a resident of the province.

ADDITIONAL INFO: It is FREE when people will just explore the beach or surf, but surfing lessons will be charged based from previous time, Surfing Lessons basically costs around Php 400.00, Php 200.00 for board rental and Php 200.00 for the instructors . The area where tickets are required includes the Concert, Participation in Art Classes, Yoga Session and watching Films about surfing.
