Here is the guidelines for the information of interested photographers:


The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) is now accepting entries for its 1st Photography Competition as part of the 163rd La Union Foundation Anniversary Celebration. Adopting the theme, “It’s GREAT Fun in La Union”, the competition aims to capture the many bounties and resources the province has to offer.

Photographs should depict the “fun experience” when exploring the unique facets of the province’s natural resources, tourist attractions, customs and traditions, arts and crafts, events and festivals, among others. The contest has three categories namely, (1) Customs and Traditions, (2) Nature, and (3) Structures and Landmarks.

For Customs and Traditions, entries may include photos of various festivals, celebrations, food or local icons.

For Nature Category, participants may send an image of scenic travel destinations, natural resources, landscape, outdoor scenery or underwater photos, etc.

For Structures and Landmarks Category, entries can be a heritage site, historical or architectural attractions but not commercial buildings like malls and restaurants. Participants are allowed to submit only one photo entry in just two categories. 

The competition is open to all photography enthusiasts, professional or amateur who are at least 18 years old at the time of the official start of the contest (January 28, 2013). All PGLU employees and their relatives up to the third degree of affinity or consanguinity are disqualified from joining the competition.

To join, the complete contest guidelines and official registration form will be available for download from the province’s website, http://www.launion.gov.ph and Provincial Information and Tourism Office’s facebook account, http://www.facebook/pitolaunion. However, official registration forms and photo entries should be submitted personally on or before the close of office hours on February 26, 2013 at the Office of the Provincial Information and Tourism Officer, 1st Floor, Provincial Capitol Building, Aguila Road, Capitol Hills, City of San Fernando, La Union. PGLU will not accept entries submitted online.
